This Privacy Policy explains what information Yuzify collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Yuzify, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect information you provide directly: your name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, bio, profile photos, and the interests you select. We also collect information about your activity on the app, including activities you create or join, messages you send within the app, friend connections, and your general area/city for showing you nearby activities. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
We use your information to create and manage your account, show you relevant nearby activities based on your area, connect you with other users who share your interests, send you notifications about activity invites, messages, and account updates, verify your phone number and email to keep the community safe, process Premium subscription payments, and improve and secure the app.
Yuzify does not access your device's precise GPS location. Instead, you provide a general area and city, which we use to show you nearby activities and calculate approximate distance to other users' posted activities. When you create an activity, you enter an area or a venue name (for example, a gym or a turf). We convert that text into approximate map coordinates to calculate distances. The area or venue text you enter is shown to other users on the activity.
We use trusted third-party services to operate Yuzify: Firebase (Google) for phone number verification, Google Sign-In for optional account login, Apple App Store / Google Play billing for processing Premium subscription payments, Resend for sending account-related emails (verification, password reset, security notices), and Google Maps Platform (Places) to convert the area or venue text you enter into map coordinates. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their specific function and are bound by their own privacy and security practices.
We do not sell your personal information. Your profile information (name, photos, bio, general area) is visible to other Yuzify users as part of the app's normal function. People who are part of the same activity can see each other's public profile, and the area or venue text of an activity is visible to other users. Your interests are visible to your friends. We may share information with law enforcement or third parties if required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your profile and associated content from active use. Some information may be retained for a limited period where necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
You can update your profile information, photos, and interests at any time from Settings. You can delete individual photos, change your email or password, and delete your account entirely. You can also block or report other users directly from their profile.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted password storage, secure authentication tokens, and access controls on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
Yuzify is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will take steps to delete their account and associated information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes through the app.
